Homebound 2024, watercolor
Homebound is a wordless picture book about a white stork witnessing the loss and destruction caused to the natural and urban environments of Ukraine by russia's full-scale invasion as he’s making his way to his nest in early spring.

This book was created in the MFA program I was pursuing at Rhode Island School of Design in 2023–2025. Initially, I self-published a small batch of copies and directed 100% of the profit I made to various fundraisers supporting individuals or brigades in the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Homebound has since been selected for the sixth edition of The Unpublished Picturebook Showcase, and one of the illustrations from it has been chosen for American Illustration AI44. It’s now set for publication in late 2025 with Orecchio Acerbo (Italy).
